Twitter And Personal Growth

Twitter is all the trend these days. And no doubt, it is a powerful software in growing your online business. I just lately read that having Twitter followers is like having a sub-list. Definitely, “the cash is in the list,” which says so much about the worth of Twitter. And makes it important to consider how you employ Twitter and what kind of people you follow on Twitter.

Until very recently, I did not reach out and follow folks on Twitter at all. I just followed folks I knew. Then I got launched to Mr. Tweet, and “he” recommended some great folks to me. Now I’m constantly finding great new individuals to follow.

I principally follow four sorts of people on Twitter. First, there are these whose posts at all times make me smile. I like these people, though I don’t know them outdoors of Twitter.

Second are these whose posts at all times give me something valuable or interesting. Usually they link to a blog submit or information article.

The third type of individual I follow is those that seem to run entire businesses on Twitter. They talk with everyone. They tweet so often there is no way they could have time to run a business outside their Twitter connections.

And finally, there are those that do nothing but market their products. I actually have zero sense of what their persona is like. They put up nothing but sales links and make claims that if I click I could make $1000 this week. This type at all times follows me first, and I follow them back to ensure I’m by no means like them.

I’ve never thought about what type of a “followee” I am, or what impression my Twitter “friends” have of me. I simply tweet what I’m pondering about, questions I have, stories that catch my interest, and an occasional plug to ask people to contemplate joining my list. I mechanically tweet my blog posts and Ezine Articles.

As I’ve started thinking about how I use Twitter, I understand that I do not use it very successfully to grow my business because I actually have no “Twitter strategy.” But I also realize that if I did use Twitter extra effectively, not only would my business benefit, but my private growth would too.

Think concerning the purpose of Twitter for web marketers. You try to show your followers that you are intelligent, interesting, and have one thing of worth to share. You want to earn their trust so they will do business with you. This is to not say that Twitter does not have dual purposes. I follow quite a bit people because I actually have an curiosity in purchasing from them, not promoting to them.

But, I digress. Let’s assume your main goal is to develop relationships that may make you money. You are trying to be the most effective person you possibly can be. You are placing your finest foot forward. Trying to be helpful, constructive and uplifting. Trying to add value to people’s lives.

And, whenever you add worth to others, don’t you necessarily add worth to your own life? Even in the worst of times, it’s useful to repeat constructive affirmations, to sing a cheerful song, to place a smile on your face. Because your subconscious doesn’t know the difference. It knows solely what you tell it. That’s why you develop into what you suppose about many of the time.

So, if we are being one of the best we can be, if we are portraying the individual we need to become, aren’t we affirming and strengthening our best character traits? Isn’t that self improvement? On prime of our own efforts, we’re studying a Twitter stream full of people also making an attempt to do and be their best. What an awesomely positive environment! It’s like free therapy.

I do not know if it works this means for everyone. But I know my Twitter stream consists of all kinds of people doing and saying constructive things. No one’s doubting my decision to become a “full time” online marketer. No one’s speaking about how onerous and depressing the recession is. All of the issues I despise concerning the outside world aren’t in my Twitter stream. Wow, I follow nice people.

You should devote a minimal of 30 minutes a day to your personal development. And, no, your tweeting does not count. Putting some thought into your Twitter strategy, however, and being a genuine, actual person once you tweet, is totally congruent with a plan for self improvement. As you think about your Twitter enterprise strategy, your business and your life will benefit from contemplating how your unending quest for personal growth matches into that strategy. Happy tweeting!
