After going to Google I noticed that the presence of Online Business Projects were actually really minimal. The reason for this is there is not many people searching for the exact term “The Online Business Project”, but this is the case for every major blog. If you notice the bloggers with over a hundred thousand readers do not use keywords for their website title they decided to go with a unique name that can be easily remembered and easily found by typing the name into Google and the other major search engines.

Once you have an idea it is time to explore the others within your niche. Even though you may have found a unique title or URL this doesn’t mean you will have absolutely no competition. With my example everyone trying to teach people about online business is my competition. So if I want to see what is big in my niche I go to Google and type in “Online Business” then find the blogs which are ranked well for the term. These guys may have not taken the name “The Online Business Project”, but their goal is the same to make money teaching others how to start an online business. If you have a fishing website with a unique name like “California Fishing God” or something then take what makes your name unique out of the equation and you will quickly find who you are fighting against for traffic. Do not rip off your competition, but see what is working for them and try doing it in your own way. You can go to Yahoo’s site explorer and see where they are building backlinks then try to build backlinks from the same place. The important thing is to never copy find a unique way to present your ideas to the web.
